I love Craigslist….It’s one of my favorite spots on the interweb to surf for Bargains. And as anybody who knows me well can attest, I love a bargain.
Several months back I found a beautiful old wooden desk listed on Craigslist for free. It was in rough shape but just needed some love. My dad helped me refinish it and it turned into a BEAUTIFUL piece of furniture that looks fantastic in my living room.
I try to check the free items listing most days to see if there are any cool free deals out there…and today I found this:
Date: 2009-01-25, 1:21PM EST
Small celtic harp. 22 strings, about 3′ tall. Good condition, includes tuning key. Three strings are “missing”, as in not installed on the harp (I was exploring a hexatonic scale and removed them). I think I have all three of them, as well as several extra replacement strings.
Free to whoever sends me the best limerick (as judged by me) in the next week.
Location: Durham
- it’s NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
Awesome….if I only knew how to write a good limerick I could be sporting a harp soon!

Hey guys….I’m a fun girl….really! I like to be cutting edge, but this? I just don’t get it! What is with the skull mania that seems to be sweeping the nation? You can’t go into any store without seeing skull shirts, jewelry, shoes….the list goes on and one. Seriously…..why are skulls the “must have” accessory everywhere you look? Why would we want to see a sweet adorable baby adorned with a skull? Does this seem weird to anybody else???
HT to Kamp Krusty for this fun picture and post….my favorite comment on his post?

Let me set the scene for you…sitting at the dinner table with the fam eating a big yummy pot of soup. Good conversation, everything is warm and cozy. Out of the blue, my son comes up with two “observations”
1.” I know why parents try to make their kids drink milk. They say it’s because milk is good for us. BUT, I know that it’s really because if we didn’t drink milk all the cows would blow up.”

2. “Oh, and also, nose picking…..parents make kids think they shouldn’t do it because it’s rude. But really…. They are afraid we will deflate our brains.”
I love nine….tonight was almost as good as the day a few weeks ago when he came out of the bathroom and said “Daddy….the toilet is clogged. And it’s not because I used to much toilet paper because I didn’t. My poop was just really huge….seriously, I witnessed it!”

Nine year old boys are a true treasure!

Does anybody but me see the humor in this? Don’t you think if the “current temp” is higher than the forecasted high, maybe it’s time to adjust your forecast just a tad?
Yesterday….it was freezing cold.
Today….I am tempted to break out my fan.
Gotta love fall!

The other night I was watching this show:

Now in all fairness…..I’ve only seen this show once. I’ve heard about it, but had not watched it until the other night. That being said, however, I have a few thoughts about what I saw…..
1. You could pay me LARGE amounts of money and I wouldn’t agree to being on this show….no way…never going to happen!
2. The woman who was featured on this episode? She actually DID look good naked….although, just to squelch any nasty rumors about my TV watching habits….they never actually show the people featured completely naked….tastefully and artfully draped or covered in the….umm….necessary areas, but not completely naked…..but enough to see what they really look like. My point? This particular women really had nothing to worry about.
3. Do they ever put people on the show who actually maybe *don’t* look good naked and try to convince them that they do? Let’s face it…..some of us….including myself…..just look better with clothes on! Admit it people…..you know it’s true!
4. If you truly didn’t think you looked good naked….what on earth would make you think getting on national television in your underwear (or less) would help?
5. Why is this entertaining? I’m by no means a prude….but I fail to see the draw here…..truly!
So….there is my 2 cents……what do you think? Thoughts? Opinions? Sarcastic comments?….Come on people…..let it all hang out! *snicker*…..

I got this email the other day….I love how they take the typical spam/scam and put a new “Christian” twist on it…..Do you think they get better results that way? Funny thing is….I don’t lead a church…..but shouldn’t she know that since she wants to give me a huge pile of money “for the church”?
From Mrs.Grace Wisdom
ABIDJAN COTE D’ IVOIRE
05 B.P 107 ABIDJAN 05.
Dearest in Christ,
I am Mrs.Grace Wisdom from island, I am married to ARCH DEACON Wisdom who worked with 蛃land, embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2003.We were married for 25 years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days.
Before his death we were both born again Christian.Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $(2.5million) in a security company here in Abidjan.
Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to cancer problem. Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein. I want a church that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God is maintained.
The Bible made us to understand that “Blessed is the hand that giveth”. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don’t want my husband’s efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision.
I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that “the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace”.
I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband’s relatives are around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development.
With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the security company in Abidjan. I will also issue you an authorisation letter that will proove you the present beneficiary of this fund.
I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth.
Please always be prayerful all through your life.Contact me on my email any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein.
Hoping to receive your reply.
Remain blessed in the Lord.
Your’s Sister In Christ

I usually sit at my desk and eat lunch and do some interweb type surfing. I try to always bring my lunch because it is cheaper and most of the time, healthier.
Today I had a frozen weight watchers meal of pasta – with red sauce. I heated it up and started to walk back to my desk while balancing it on top of my drink….because it’s hot dude! Can you see what’s coming? I rounded the corner to walk back to my desk and promptly dumped the entire red cheesy mess all over the carpet next to somebody’s desk…nice job!
I was thinking about renting out my services for all your food serving needs since I have such mad skillz in this department….any takers?

Couldn’t sleep last night…..I hate that! First my mind was racing and I couldn’t shut it off. Then my dog was snoring (loudly) under the bed – my side of the bed. Then it was too hot. No matter what I did, it seemed like there was something else to distract me and the end result was frustration! Around 1am I finally got out of bed and took 2 of these:

I don’t know what they put in them…and maybe it’s all in my head, but pretty soon, I was OUT. I’ve developed a deep appreciation and affection for Tylenol PM!
So I’m needing some heavy-duty caffeine this morning to get me up and running…how are you this morning?

Apparently the internets have a thing or 8 to say about American Idol contestants singing “Shout To The Lord” while dressed all in white in a cheesy fashion…..check this out:

Except for one weird search query about “Scary Hannah Montanna who is so pretty” (not quite sure what that was all about) – every search query on my blog today was related to American Idol and that song.
It would seem that people are talking…..I haven’t read most of what is being said, but apparently people do have opinions.
So….what have you read?
***UPDATE!!!! Okay….just watched the opening number of the results show of American Idol….DID YOU SEE THAT? They not only reprised “Shout to The Lord” (and not dressed in white I might add) but they put “Jesus” back into the lyrics. Very Interesting don’t you think? It would seem that enough people had something to say that they saw fit to “fix it”. I’m not quite shocked, but I am very surprised!

In some instances, I’m a fan of being direct. I do believe, however, that direct doesn’t always work. This……this would be one of those times I think.

I’m thinking….WOW……did they expect good results from this one? I just don’t even know what to say! I wouldn’t recommend trying this one at your local church.

That baby does not look poisonous. But I could be wrong.”
Second favorite?
“Yes there are human skulls on everything. My wife and I had been in K-Mart this weekend and seen boys pajamas that had a big snowflake with a skull at the center of the flake. Skull snowflake…seems kinda funny. Light, fluffy and deadly.”
Awesome….
