This is a new twist on Spam…..

I got this email the other day….I love how they take the typical spam/scam and put a new “Christian” twist on it…..Do you think they get better results that way?  Funny thing is….I don’t lead a church…..but shouldn’t she know that since she wants to give me a huge pile of money “for the church”?

From Mrs.Grace Wisdom
ABIDJAN COTE D’ IVOIRE

Dearest in Christ,

I am Mrs.Grace Wisdom from island, I am married to ARCH DEACON Wisdom  who worked with  蛃land, embassy in Ivory Coast for nine years before he died in the year 2003.We were married for 25 years without a child. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days.

Before his death we were both born again Christian.Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $(2.5million) in a security company  here in Abidjan.

Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to cancer problem.  Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein. I want a church that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavor that the house of God is maintained.

The Bible made us to understand that “Blessed is the hand that giveth”. I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don’t want my husband’s efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision.

I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that “the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace”.
I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband’s relatives are around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development.

With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the security company  in Abidjan. I will also issue you an authorisation letter that will proove you the present beneficiary of this fund.
I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shephard. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that Wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth.

Please always be prayerful all through your life.Contact me on my  email  any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein.
Hoping to receive your reply.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
Your’s Sister In Christ

Preach it!

I found this over at Purgatorio….all I can say is AMEN brother. Preach it!

Is anyone else sick of this stuff yet?

Product Description
Blessed are the shopping list scrawlers and the test takers when their pencils are topped with one of these replicas of Jesus. Handsomely detailed with a red robe and arms outstretched in blessing or prayer. Five 1-1/4 inch tall, soft vinyl Jesuses on each illustrated blistercard. Sigh…….
I’m tired of the endless supply of STUFF that gets labled as Christian and made to seem worth purchasing simply because it has Jesus associated with it. It almost reminds me of a story found in the Gospels…..involving Jesus and some money changers in the temple…..but I won’t go there….yet

Walmart…..

I know millions of people shop at Walmart…probably every day. I’ve shopped at Walmart for years, but have hated it for at least the last 3 or 4.  When I was in college Walmart was my favorite place to go. There were no Walmart stores around where I grew up and this was the early 90’s. Walmart back then was innovative and fresh, fun and full of neat stuff you couldn’t find anywhere else. Fast forward 15 years and it’s not so innovative or fresh anymore. It’s often dirty and cluttered and the quality is substandard. I never shop there because I enjoy it, I shop there because it saves me money and I always have to talk myself into going.

Last weekend we took the kids and headed to Walmart to do some grocery shopping, and just like I expected it to be, it was a less than enjoyable experience. Difficult to find a parking space, dirty bathrooms, cluttered aisles, jammed full of people who don’t want to let you past, long lines at the check-out and far less than optimal customer service. Sigh…..if money were not an object, I would probably never go to Walmart again. I told my husband that it almost makes me angry and stressed to just think about going in……

Am I alone in my thinking or do others think Walmart has become a place to dread instead of a store to enjoy! I’m hopeful that I will never come to feel the same way about my Target…..any store that has a Starbucks inside can never be bad right?
