I love Craigslist….It’s one of my favorite spots on the interweb to surf for Bargains. And as anybody who knows me well can attest, I love a bargain.
Several months back I found a beautiful old wooden desk listed on Craigslist for free. It was in rough shape but just needed some love. My dad helped me refinish it and it turned into a BEAUTIFUL piece of furniture that looks fantastic in my living room.
I try to check the free items listing most days to see if there are any cool free deals out there…and today I found this:
Date: 2009-01-25, 1:21PM EST
Small celtic harp. 22 strings, about 3′ tall. Good condition, includes tuning key. Three strings are “missing”, as in not installed on the harp (I was exploring a hexatonic scale and removed them). I think I have all three of them, as well as several extra replacement strings.
Free to whoever sends me the best limerick (as judged by me) in the next week.

Awesome….if I only knew how to write a good limerick I could be sporting a harp soon!

The other night I was watching this show:
Now in all fairness…..I’ve only seen this show once. I’ve heard about it, but had not watched it until the other night. That being said, however, I have a few thoughts about what I saw…..
1. You could pay me LARGE amounts of money and I wouldn’t agree to being on this show….no way…never going to happen!
2. The woman who was featured on this episode? She actually DID look good naked….although, just to squelch any nasty rumors about my TV watching habits….they never actually show the people featured completely naked….tastefully and artfully draped or covered in the….umm….necessary areas, but not completely naked…..but enough to see what they really look like. My point? This particular women really had nothing to worry about.
3. Do they ever put people on the show who actually maybe *don’t* look good naked and try to convince them that they do? Let’s face it…..some of us….including myself…..just look better with clothes on! Admit it people…..you know it’s true!
4. If you truly didn’t think you looked good naked….what on earth would make you think getting on national television in your underwear (or less) would help?
5. Why is this entertaining? I’m by no means a prude….but I fail to see the draw here…..truly!
So….there is my 2 cents……what do you think? Thoughts? Opinions? Sarcastic comments?….Come on people…..let it all hang out! *snicker*…..

The Cardiologist’s Funeral
A cardiologist died and was given an elaborate
funeral. A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the
casket during the service.
Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the
casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the
doctor in the beautiful heart forever.
At that point, one of the mourners burst into
laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, “I’m
sorry, I was just thinking of my own
funeral…I’m a gynecologist.”
The proctologist fainted…

I love FeedBurner and all the great information it gives you. In particular, I love seeing that people from other countries are visiting my blog. This week I have had web-peeps from Indonesia, Finland, China and Russia here. Then, the other day I saw a link on my stats page that said google translate russian….so I clicked on it and this came up!
It’s hard to read, but it’s in RUSSIAN for pete’s sake! How cool is that! My husband was blown away….I’ve never been translated into another language before.
That made me happy!

So check out what I found in the dollar section of Target. For the faint of heart who think they might like a tattoo, but are too chicken to go thru with it, I present…..The Tattoo sleeve.
It’s really quite convincing…once it’s on that is.
See…now you don’t have to worry about covering up that pesky tattoo for your cousins wedding. Just slip it off! I’m amazed that someone didn’t think of this earlier.
Really people….who takes this seriously? It’s great for a laugh, but would anyone actually wear this? By the way….major props to my husband for the bueno modeling job!

U.S. Navy Creates Cool New ‘Ping’ Sound

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Navy announced Monday that field tests of a cool new “ping” sound, a $3 billion project in development since the Cold War, have been an overwhelming success. “The Navy will begin retrofitting all destroyers, supercarriers, and nuclear submarines with the new sound immediately,” said chief of naval operations Admiral Gary Roughead, who described the sound as “like a metallic-y sonar blip, but kind of loud like a torpedo siren.” “We are extremely proud to continue the fine naval tradition of cool, important-sounding noises.” Roughead refused to go into detail about the technical specifications of the new noise, saying only that its sound signifies the imminent death of everyone aboard.

People, I am dedicated to my faith! I am not always up for any old challenge, but this? Wow….I might have to take this challenge. I wonder what my husband will think?

Update: I gave it 24 hours and decided it’s a load of crap! Not one search all day that ended up at my blog involved Paris Hilton. So, the moral of the story? Don’t believe everything you read 
I was reading an article the other day about blogging and how to get more blog traffic. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek but one of the suggestions was to write anything about Paris Hilton. Apparently, anything with her name in it will get hits. I’m not sure if I believe it or not, so I’m conducting an experiment. I’m writing about Paris Hilton just to see what happens……So here you go.
